What happens once the investigation is complete?

The solicitor investigating the matter will prepare an advice to the Board. The Board is presented with the advice of the investigating solicitor, and relevant correspondence and material, so that the Board is fully informed to enable it to form its own opinion.

Do all decisions have to made by the Board itself?

No, some Board decisions have been delegated to the Director and Senior Solicitor. However, a decision as to whether there is evidence of unprofessional conduct or unsatisfactory conduct can only be made by the Board itself.
